TRACEY SHIFFMAN
Is a graphic designer specializing in publication design and branding for museums, cultural institutions, and publishers of books on art, architecture and design. She received her formal training at CalArts and was mentored by the internationally renowned designer and educator Louis Danziger.Shiffman opened a design studio named Tracey Shiffman Design in 1985 of which she is the principal and founder. For 36 years Ms. Shiffman has dedicated her life to the practice of graphic design. She is and has been a leader in the field of innovative work as creative director, art director, and principal designer. She has taught and mentored students, given lectures, published internationally and received numerous awards nationally and internationally for her contribution to the field of print communication. She is currently a professor at Art Center College of Design, teaching in the Graphic Design program.
ALEX KOHNKE
Was born in Germany and has lived all over Europe before moving to Los Angeles in 1994. He attended schools on both continents: Institut für Graphic Design, Hamburg, Germany, Art Center College of Design, Switzerland and Pasadena.Alex has worked for an eclectic array of design studios and ad agencies on projects ranging from work on worldwide accounts like Logitech to identities for small galleries. His stops include: Hamon & Associates, Beige Communications (as partner and principal designer), UCLA Media Arts Department (as lecturer), Whitenoise, Ogilvy and Mather–Brand integration Group, Simon Johnston Design and Rebeca Méndez Communication Design. Alex can also photograph, draw, speak German and go uphill on a bicycle.
